Data Protection: Consent for the use and storage of personal data

 

Dear Club Member

 

As you will be aware, new data protection legislation (known as the General Data Protection Regulation) comes into force on 25 May 2018. Reading Coin Club holds limited personal data about you in respect of your membership and receipt of the News Letter. I set out below the way the data is stored and used and I need your consent to this.

 

The non-electronic data held comprises:

Your name, address, phone number and email address (if you have supplied one).

 

The electronic data held comprises:

Your name, address, phone number and email address (if you have supplied one)

 

Retention and destruction policy

Membership details are kept for a period of six years. Non-electronic personal data is filed securely in a locked metal cabinet and is shredded at the disposal date. Personal electronic data is held on computer files which need a password to access and are deleted at the disposal date.

 

You can enquire about this at any time by contacting the Club’s President or the Hon Secretary. Our Privacy Policy is available on the club website www.readingcoinclub.co.uk.
